Among other items approved was more than $63,000 for an emergency service dock replacement in Stratford. Other projects are in Norwich and Stonington. Ulysses B. Hammond, interim executive director of the Connecticut Port Authority, said the state's program for small harbors is aimed at economic improvements. "These are some of the most important programs we sponsor in Connecticut," Hammond said, stressing that the primary requirements for the program is that work be done at the town or city level.
