A man who authorities say has been on the run for more than a decade after failing to answer to child pornography and related charges in a Connecticut courthouse in 2012 was apprehended Monday while trying to come back into the country from Mexico. Officials from the U.S. Marshals Service said Thomas Marcel, 64, was taken into custody at the El Paso, Texas border and charged as a fugitive. He is being held at the El Paso County Detention Facility awaiting extradition back to Connecticut. According to Connecticut judicial records, Marcel was arrested by Connecticut State Police in September 2008 and charged again in October 2011.
